Attractions

Favorable climate makes Summerland and its surrounding area a four-season playground that offers endless attractions, outdoor adventures and voyages of discovery of every kind – all within walking distance or a short drive.

Throughout the year, the town of Summerland is host to a wide variety of Okanagan festivals and events and is home to the Summerland Ornamental Gardens, Kettle Valley Steam Railroad, Summerland Golf and Country Club, Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre and a future University Campus. Summerland is also proud to have five local wineries including: Thornhaven, Adora, Dirty Laundry, Sonoran and internationally renowned Sumac Ridge Estate Winery.

In the summer, the breathtaking beaches and clear waters of Okanagan Lake and nearby Skaha Lake offer a hard-to-resist invitation to enthusiasts of all water sports. Within walking distance of the Resort there’s lots of fun for the kids including a waterpark and playground at Peach Orchard Beach or the Summerland Trout Hatchery where they can learn all about freshwater fisheries, conservation and enhancement through a self-guided tour.

Summerland also offers access to some fabulous winter activities. You can cross-country ski along the Kettle Valley Railway, or enjoy all that the nearby major alpine and cross-country ski hills – Apex Alpine Ski Hill, Crystal Mountain, Big White and Silver Star – have to offer.
